Campaign Story
This organisation aims to conduct community family mental health awareness promotion. They intend to have 20 mobile community outreach activities to raise awareness in the Mashonaland East province in Zimbabwe. Establishment of a toll-free line in Zimbabwe for tele-therapy providing mental health support for people directly and indirectly affected by COVID-19 is a priority.
The COVID-19 Community Family Mental Health Preparedness and Response Plan complements activities by the Ministry of Health and includes six main activities:
- Â Community mental health awareness promotion.
- Supporting the mental health of front-line workers.
- Monitoring and risk assessment.
- Capacity building for field staff.
- Establishment of a toll-free line for remote tele-therapy.
- Hosting our 2nd annual conference on maternal mental health in Africa.
The organisation hopes to increase awareness, acceptance, accessibility of mental health care in communities and improve sound mental health and wellbeing of the community.
